I think with a manager Sullivan wants to have his cake and eat it, as usual.

Wants a high profile manager to boast about, but at the same time wants a yes man.

Modus operandi for him. It's all about making a grand statement to look 'good' superficially. Look at his clothes and his houses/interior decorating and the vanity signings like Hart and Hernandez.

Same with his ideas about new investors in the club- wants someone to come in with loads of money to invest, but doesn't want to give up his majority stake or control. 'Give me all your money and I'll spend it how I want to'.

Moyes unfortunately will absolutely be pushed under the bus if it suits Sullivan to do so, just like with Bilic (and probably Henry). He'll always find someone to blame for the bad instead of him, while taking sole credit for all of the good.

Re: Next manager
"The Club would like to place on record that it categorically refutes the claims made by the Daily Telegraph regarding manager David Moyes.

"There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to this story.

"As previously stated on a number of occasions, the Club and David Moyes agreed a deal until the end of the 2017/18 season, at which point both parties will sit down and discuss the future."

Why respond to what is essentially an opinion piece.

I'm backing Moyes. Decent bloke, footballing man. Not the very best but perfectly good enough for us. As for the lot running the club, if nothing nice to say, stay shtum.

Re: Next manager
I doubt that's Moyes then in any event. Regardless of any merits or otherwise as a manager, he doesn't strike me as being anything other than his own man.

Re: Next manager
Personally although I was sceptical at first I really like Moyes. I think he's about to be the next one pushed under the bus by that greasy cunt of a chairman who really wants to blame Moyes (just as he did Bilic) for a poor transfer window.

Undermining Moyes now purely to suit his personal vanity ('I offered Moyes loads of players and he didn't want them') is suicidal if he wants us to not get relegated.

Yeah, yeah, yeah we should go for Mancini, Silva etc but in truth Sullivan's only interested in employing a manager that he can stick his hand up his arse and work the controls.

Howe or Hughton would be mad to leave either of their current jobs for us.

If there is one call for unity that should be respected, it's that one.

We aren't getting a new one before the end of the season with being dead and buried.

That's who I reckon the pornos will appoint not who I want BTW.... though either would be a (small) step up from where we are.

Chris Houghton or Howe I reckon.

Re: Next manager
It fucking retarded to be talking about a new manager in our current predicament.

Re: Next manager
All of the points of the original article make sense and logically follow.

But something making sense does not mean it will happen and there is nothing we didn't already know in the article.
If papers, which seemingly have license to lie if they want, add the "likely" in the headline, it's probably a strong indication that this is the writer's opinion.

to be fair, Watford continually employ decent managers and they are hardly a model of stability.

Re: Next manager
I can't imagine there's a manager in their right mind looking at us as a potential suitor for their services. It was bad enough before Moyes but with the tragic January window, the stuff that happened with Henry and our own fans organising a march against the owners...things have only got worse.

Of all the managers who are uninspiring as managers, Warnock has the most entertaining personality.

And by far the best nickname.

Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Or would you run and never look back?
Would you cry if you saw me crying?
And would you save my soul tonight?
Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Or would you laugh? Oh, please tell me this
Now would you die for the one you love?
Oh hold me in your arms tonight
I can be your hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Would you swear that you'll always be mine
Or would you lie? Would you run and hide?
Am I in too deep? Have I lost my mind?
I don't care, you're here tonight
I can be your hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Oh, I just hold you
I just hold you, oh yeah
Am I in too deep? Have I lost my mind?
Well, I don't care, you're here tonight
I can be your hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
I can be your hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
You can take my breath away
I can be your hero

Ooops the C&P...
The fact Marco Silva is now out of work and would not cost anything in compensation to appoint would be interesting to the Hammers. There have been tensions behind the scenes regarding West Ham’s transfer policy with Moyes failing to land a number of targets in January.

Willtell 12:11 Tue Feb 6
Re: Next manager
Dear old Hugh perpetuating the official line blaming Moyes for our poor transfer window. However, what is interesting to me is the line about who would be most attractive to WH and why...?

A 'next level' manager should never have failed at his last job or be attractive just because he's cheap to employ and grateful for the opportunity back into work...
